Memorial Day Parade

On Memorial Day this year, the girls went downtown Melrose to see the parade. The weather was perfect and the parade was great! Emily was really excited when she saw "Big Brown", the horse, and loved waving her flag to the crowd. Sara enjoyed the view of parade from behind a tree for the most part...the really loud fire trucks really spooked her in the beginning. Once she saw Wally the Green Monster she seemed to be in better spirits! Happy Memorial Day.

Sara...a True Red Sox Fan!

Sara had a great time at Fenway and takes after her Mommy when it comes to the important things in life...like Fenway dirt! I told her, "This is the ground that Jason Varitek walks on." and she was all over taking it home! Go Red Sox.

Emily Enjoying Fenway Park!

Emily loved being at Fenway Park...I mean who wouldn't! Here Emily is holding onto Fenway Grass...I know, the grass was roped off so people couldn't touch the grass...but I mean come on...it was Mother's Day and Mommy could not resist! We just love Fenway.

Mother's Day Road Race!

For a few years now Mommy and Gramma have participated in the Melrose Run for Women in Melrose (5K). This year Mommy was up for the challenge of running with Sara and Emily with Gramma cheering them on from the Dominican Republic. (Gramma is on a trip to the Dominican with the Incarnation Church to help those less fortunate...she's the best!) Sara and Emily cheered Mommy on the whole way while Mommy ran "Go Mommy Go!". The girls even cheered for all the other women running and made everyone stay motivated and smile. Mommy finished in 35 minutes which made Mommy very happy! This was a great way to begin a fantastic Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all you moms!

A Great Day For A Walk In The Park!

Today was the greatest day! The weather was perfect to take a trip into Boston to walk IN Fenway Park! The girls and Josh surprised Mommy with a trip to Red Sox Nation! You can't get any better than this. Sara came home with her pockets filled with Fenway dirt (which is now displayed beautifully in her room) and Emily just could not wait to see Wally the Big Green Monster. Fenway was open to the public...free of charge, but know that today was priceless! Thanks Sara, Emily and Daddy for a great Mother's Day!

Sara's First Shot!

Watch out Celtics! We have a new star that is ready to join the team...we might wait until after the playoffs just in case. You can see how Sara improves with each shot. Thanks to Uncle Mike who gave Sara the basketball net for Christmas last year. "She's got skill!"

Sara's Big Shot

Lemonade Anyone?

The other day the girls were given a special treat all the way from California. Gramma's friend Kathleen has a lemon tree in her backyard and decided to mail Gramma some fresh lemons. Gramma let the girls take some home. So what do you do when someone gives you lemons...you make lemonade!
Sara and Emily loved stirring the sugar into the water and then squeezing the fresh lemons into the mixture. Emily had a few licks of the lemons and said it was delicious. Once the hard work was completed, the girls sat back and enjoyed fresh California lemonade! Thanks Kathleen!

In this video you will see her making sure her audience is enjoying the show...audience being Shadow. And Sara gives a shout out to her buddies Elmo and Dora! Feel free to sing along. You just gotta love Sara!

Butterscotch and Bugsy

A few days ago Gramma and Grandpa took Sara and Emily to a very special place. A local garden shop was having a customer appreciation day which included pony rides! Emily had a great time with her pony Butterscotch and Sara (who had never ridden on a pony before!) made a new friend; Bugsy...Sara was excited because Bugsy wore a hat too! We still are not sure who had more fun, the girls or Gramma and Grandpa! Seriously...how cute!

Sara's First Turn at Bowling

What do you do with two 2 year old girls on a rainy day? Take them bowling for the first time! Here is Sara...the amazing bowler. It took Sara a few minutes to get used to the idea of bowling...the big lanes and loud noises are not favorites of Sara's. But once she overcame these obstacles, she became a great bowler...a quick one too! You just gotta love the shoes!

Emily the Bowler!

Emily had a "ball"! Take a look at as she gets a lesson from her dad. She seemed to think bowling was basketball, but got the hang of it quickly. The ball took quite a while to get down the lane, but she did manage to knock a few pins down! She was very interested in pushing the buttons to reset the pins!
